Jim Cameron's Scottish Dance Band

The Early Years

Available on CD - Catalogue Number - BLT01 - £11.49

Kirrie fiddler Jim Cameron first found recording success in 1933 as a solo artiste on the famous Beltona label.  Later he combined with his brothers to make further recordings as ĎThe Cameron Mení and also as a trio with Jimmy Shand and Sandy Moir on accordion and piano.

Following the second world war, Jim Cameronís Scottish Dance Band became Beltonaís biggest earner rivalling the success of Cameronís great friend Jimmy Shand on Parlophone.
The recordings on this CD were made in a period between 12th December 1949 and 24th May 1951 at venues in London and Glasgow.  They have been played into computer, digitally improved and then remastered to CD.  Over 74 minutes of good old fashioned music.
